And that is such a huge change in my life that I never want to take it for granted. I reached up over my head into a kitchen cabinet yesterday and caught myself: A year ago there were days when I could not have physically reached up above my shoulder or would have done it with great pain.

You were a solid, reliable force over the past two years when I was in lots of pain and also dealing with the Bermuda Triangle of family, job and health issues. You always gave me clear, exacting answers so I could make informed decisions and feel good about them. And you threw in humor. I needed all of that. This past weekend I walked 5+ miles with my dog, played singles tennis after a year of not being able to play and generally feel fantastic. Eleanor L. writes: Last August you operated on my Husband, then an 84 year old man in constant pain. It was a long operation, and it has been a longer recovery. Yesterday he walked a mile along the jogging path in Carlin Park. Because of you, he has hope that he might work again and be able to take a vacation in Florence to revisit his favorite walking city.
